March first was the start of the resistance against the Japanese all those years ago. This is a day to remember all of the people who started the resistance and the protesters who died on this day.
We went to one of the oldest schools in Busan (a boys highschool in Dongnae) where this celebration was taking place.
People were organized into apartment buildings that are in the surrounding area.

I don't know why they ran....but they did.

The opening of the parade (they did pratice first though)
No parade is complete without a flag. This one is carried by some of the highschool boys.
The highschool students lead the parade.

Both the boys and girls were dressed in traditional clothing.

I decided to stir up some trouble (reaction sake really) and ran into the crowd to talk. I was embraced and many photo's were taken.
It's funny how flustered they get.

We walked down side streets until we reached an apex of many roads. There they did some dances adn set something on fire.
I was given a few Korean flags....that was my goal.

Interesting enough I was on the news. I think Steve and I were the only whities around so when they saw me they grabbed me and asked me some questions. One was "do you know what this day means"......in all my happiness I cried out "Korea Fighting"......but I think you'd have to live here to get the joke there.
