Hill houses

In Kinver there is this colony of houses that were carved out of the hill side and were lived in for several hundreds of years. They have only actually been vacated in the past 40 or so years.

This isn't just a one story house either. If you walk around a bit you can go to the next level of houses.

Steve and Bonny are trying to pose as well.

Most of the houses are three rooms and they go pretty far back into the hill. You can imagine how warm they would be in the winter and how cool they would be in the summer. Earth is a wonderful insulator.

It's kinda cool how the smoke has carved out it's own path over years of use.
These houses are a part of a beautiful park that over look Kinver...and if you strain your eyes enough you can see Stourbridge.
