Dudley Castle and Zoo

High on a hill top in a place call Dudley a castle was constructed. Later on.......I can only assume to get more people to come..........they made a zoo around the ruins.

This is the only turret that remains intact and is safe enough to climb......granted thinking back now that was the only one as well.

This is what is left of the keep. Portions of it you can go and walk around in it. You can see Steve and his sister Kathy and her wee kids, Lottie and Imi.

This overlooks all of Dudley......and if I knew all the town names surrounding Dudley....it looks over all that as well.

They had a Medieval day when we went so we were able to see people dressed up in period attire, a bow demonstration and an array of daily items from that time.

In where they would keep their stores.

Steve, Imi, myself and Lottie.

I don't think they originally had the pavement in the battlements...

Going up.....

View of the battlements.

The archery demonstration. These men have HUGE arms and back muscles.

There, now that's the rest of the keep!

Taking in the view........or at least three of us are.

And now for the zoo part...

This was in the Lemar habitats. We were able to walk around and get super close to them!

Penguins in the grass!!!

I don't know if the shirt was planned but it says "let the animal out"

Playing house.....

A family resemblance.
