This trip will be fairly memorable to Steve. It was his first time skiing!!! He accounted himself well for his first experience. Our friend and co worker Jeshan also tried on the skis for the first time. They don't get much snow in South Africa. I wasn't able to ski because of my ankle, so I went around the resort, casino (I can't gamble I discovered) and generally took in the fresh air.

Steve decked out in his first snowsuit.
This is also Jeshan's first time in a snowsuit and actually the first time he will see snow falling from the sky.
Notice all the crazy around them? 30 or so people on that bus clamoring to get down that mountain.

The warm up.
I found it amusing to watch. Mostly because a few people didn't have any balance even without the ski's on.
These boys only lasted two runs that day......but oh how they stretched!

Steve had problems getting one of his ski's on but that was only because the binding wasn't set to the proper size. Eddy helped Steve out and also gave him some basic tips to help him stay up.
Jeshan learning the glide...

The boys just coasted at the bottom of the mountain for about a 1/2 hour before they attempted the ski lift. It was later found out that they missed the beginner slope and went down the intermediate. Steve realised his mistake.....but Jeshan kept going.
You so know they are posing.

While everyone else was skiing I snooped around to see what there was to see. The dog is the resort's mascot. Actually recently I've seen this mascot at a few baseball games.
These are all lanterns. They are very pretty when they are lit up at night.

Some of the beautiful mountains that surrounded the actual resort. Apparently this mountain range is the tallest in S. Korea and where some of the old kingdoms united to form Korea.

Jeshan and I getting our pose on.
Steve came down off the mountain to warm up and rest.
Steve with a sudo ski instructor.....really it's just one of the organizer's friends.
Sadly it's been to long and now I can't remember most of these people's names.

I made it to the top of the mountain as well!
Charles and I taking it all in. Me with a bust up ankle and him with a knee injury. What a sad pair we make.
A map of the resort.
It's suppose to say "Top of the Top". A place where you can warm up and get some coffee before you head down the hill.

I tracked Steve down right before he headed down.
That's not Steve.....actually it's him in the front helping her up.
Some pictures I took while on the chair lift.

Jeshan, after having his first frost bite attack, came up in the chair lift with me.
I took all these pictures right before Christmas, I kinda figured it was the only tree's I'd see.

This is actually in the common area in the ski resort.

On our way home on Sunday we made a stop to eat lunch. This is what a BBQ meal looks like.
Loads of side dishes, the required beer (no soju yet!)..........
And the required Sam-jip-sal (pork sliced thinly) cooked over a gas flame or sometimes coals.
